I am off to a resort for an overnight. Mr. Radish and I are going to have a two person retreat on how to manage the rest of our lives.
When I was last at the Dahlia Lounge, I had grilled bread salad and and it was fabulous. Here are the ingredients: grilled artisan bread, frisee, cut up cherry tomatoes (?), small pieces of mozzarella, some radicchio, and maybe some olives, the exact ingredients are unimportant. What brought the whole thing together was the basil oil.
Basil oil is incredibly easy to make. Blanch leaves in boiling water for a couple of minutes, drain and put into ice water for several minutes, Drain, and blend with olive oil. The ratio is about 1 1/2 cups basil to 1 cup olive oil.
