Day 2 Day radishes

My friend applesauce who comments here is in the hospital and needs our prayers of stamina, courage and positiveness.

July 30

Here are three generations. This is taken afer the boat returned the campers from Camp Sealth.  I think this is the seventh year Thing One has gone. It has been a joy over the years to go and meet the boat, there is such enthusiasm, and joy. The kids meet up with their friends and exchange email addresses. Usually we all have lunch afterwards and get the stories. This year was more subdued. Everyone is getting older and acting cooler.

Monday we had lunch with two couples, and NoName. It was a rather raucous lunch. One of the women brought me a sack of plums, saw my purse was open and slipped the baggie in. Yesterday I went out had lunch was shopping and had a manicure . Today I opened my purse to get my phone out and there in my purse were cooked plums fermenting. I could not open the baggie long enough to photograph them. Hum.

This little one is turning four in less than three weeks. At four he will learn new skills, one of which is diaper changing.   

July 25/ Suncadia

Mr. Radish and I have just been to Suncadia for a conference.    We had the pleasure of attending with daughter Noname and her husband.  It is hard to admit that I was so ignorant about this place.  Maybe part of this is that we do not golf, nor are we athletic, and partly because we do not have the money to spend. But Suncadia is one of these new resorts built around American in sort of out of the way places, but which are beautiful.  The sights at this resort were breathtaking.  

We went there because our children felt that Mr. Radish should learn networking,  and both Noname and Mr. Radish needed credits for their licence. Plus it would be fun.    Mr. Radish does not do schmooze well. But he did learn about "networking".  He learned about social networking in ways that his family could not have showed him.  He learned about twitter, Facebook, Links, or Link up?.  He knows what to say and a lot more about what not to say.  He knows about all the underlings at big companies are young and that is how they do their work. . . through social networking. He is pumped.   Wow what a weekend!

This quilt was started about three years ago , and MJ finished it right off when she got here this year. She is amazing in that she gets what you are trying to tell her to do. She has great follow-through. I could go on about her assets, but then I AM her grandmother. A round of applause please.

Just a little in the kitchen patriotism

Sunday we were driving through the local fields, and suddenly " amber waves of grain.... came into my head. Twenty minutes later the sun came out and there were the purple mountains. I love America.

July 18/ two cousins

I am fond of this photo. For me this photo says a lot that is very rare to capture.  My sixteen year old granddaughter meeting her bride cousin after the wedding ceremony.  

 

July 16/thoughts

1.  This summer is great fun.  

2. I forgot how hot it can be when the sun comes out.  

3.  Being married 50 years is a lot like being married 49 years.

4.  My moratorium on not discussing politics is being removed tomorrow. No wait today.   

5.  Yesterday I went with my granddaughter Mary Jane to my first vampire/werewolf movie.  I preferred the werewolves.

6.   I guess that God was looking out for me when I could not buy my Iphone4 just yet.  

7.  My neice Lynn had a wonderful wedding.  

8.  Grandson George can ride a two wheeler with no training wheels. 

9.  Obama picking Czars ,so they do not need Senate ratification, is criminal.  Especially, as those he 

picks might be.  

10.  I like business and I would like more in my home town.  Some blocks are empty. 

11.  We have Mason, my nephew, announcing his engagement to Kara. 

12.  I met my lovely nieces, Madeline and Isabella,  for the first time in many years.
